Will google earth ever be live?

No, because you need to consider the logistics involved.

1. the size of the earth.

2. The number of cameras required to tape everything on earth at every second.

3. The amount of information which would require to be processed.

4. The cost of running such a network would be billions of dollars per second. Not per year.

So no. It will never be live. Right now it has a image refresh rate of 4 - 7 YEARS. let alone days.

You shouldn't be saddend by the thought. You can technically make your own sub-orbital satelight with a camera and have live feed your self if your willing to upfront the costs.

For more information in making your own mini suborbital satelight.

Although, you can certainly trick the older non computer friendly generation into thinking it is currently live.|||No. They would have to put cameras all over the world. It would violate people's privacy.
