Can you tell me any better software than google earth in which we can see the live pictures of earth?

Depends what you are looking for.

Try the following website.

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/|||There is no other better thing .|||There are no live pictures of earth from any satellite except for the weather satellites.|||try these link

http://www.wikimapia.com|||There are currently no programs that allow you to see live pictures of earth as to my understanding of what you want available to the public...not even google earth does that. MSN has a map service similar to google earth. But in my opinion it doesn't work as well. Its msn live maps. http://maps.live.com/|||www.livepicssatteliteofearth.co.in

www.earthpicsof.universe.co.in|||There are no live pictures of earth anywhere on the web. The google.earth pictures are photographs taken from space over the last 5 years. The reason there are no live pictures is that it would be too expensive to place a satellite into space that just transmitted back live pictures. There must be a scientific or economic reason to launch a satellite, and beaming back live pictures is neither scientific nor economical.|||Alternative to Google Earth is 'World Wind' from NASA. It is free to use and apart from the earth, other planets like Moon, Mars etc can also be viewed.

Enjoy...

SSJ|||Well, As a whole program to view the whole Earth, Google Earth is the best. As for Zooming in on areas, I am fond of Mapquests Aerial Views.|||you could always pay for the upgraded version of Google Earth

Google Earth Help?

Someone told me that google earth is live now. and that you can litterally see something happen live. but i download a version and it does not seem live what am i doing wrong?|||No, it's not live. And it cannot be for the time being. We would need a few million satellites to monitor everything live. Not to mention the torrent of data that would be flooding Google's servers.

Can you have Google Earth where you accually SEE people at the moment?

I heard awhile back that you could have Google Earth and look at someones house and if they walked out then you could see them right then, is that right? I just wanna stalk my friends and freak them out hehe. But really, I downloaded Google Earth and it's a horrible picture. Plus I live in Tennessee so I was KINDA hoping that I could see all the storm that is going on.|||The others are talking about Google Maps. You are talking about Google Earth. No, you can't see in real time. The satellite photos were pieced together over a period of time. Figure that at any given moment, half of the earth is dark and at least a quarter of the earth is covered in clouds. So they piece together photos from clear days. And as for stalking your friends, there are laws about that. Grow up.|||no. and also it isn't all one instant photo. google has people who drive through areas and they have a sphere shaped camera taking photos like every 20 yards on the vehicle. Your aerial photos are satellite but the ground ones are taken from ground level.|||no sorry u can not do that every so often a google earth car/van/truck drives all around with a 360 degree camera on top of the vehicle snapping pics constantly as it drives around (if your lucky you will see it around the middle of each month)|||If Google puts cameras on every street in the world then yes!

How can i explore the earth using internet and satellite?

im just wonderin if there is anyway to explore the earth using my internet connection then connect to a satellite... what i mean is just like exploring the earth using Google Earth or Live.Local.Com.|||try googleEarth|||GEarth would be the best 2 use

Is this true about Google Earth?

tell me is this true that we can see live earth by Google earth?is there any version of live goole earth? if there is then tell me how can i download and use it plz|||no, there is no "live" version of google earth, the program works by taking still photographs via satellite and stitching them together to create the illusion of a world. The reasons these pictures sometimes appear to change is that they are occasionally updated, or supplemented by aerial photographs. I think NASA may have some kind of "live" satellite stream (im not sure), but this is just showing the latest photos, and you cannot control the camera.

Hope this helps|||You mean actually the earth being filmed and live transmitted from the sat elites?

No, that's not how google earth is made.

They make some by satelite and most by those big planes which come over really low and they take the pictures of popular areas like Amsterdam and Lille.

And the 3D google earths are made by those little black cars with the cameras on top.

Would be a bit of a privacy breaker, filming people live.|||Of course not - that would cost an astronomical amount of money to maintain.

Every so often (sometimes as long as 7 or more years), GE will update certain regions at a time. When I looked at my neighborhood recently through Google Earth I found that it was from at least 2002 or prior. Not very reliable with how many changes have occurred since in my town, which is why I don't see a use for it.|||well first of all if you mean being able to so the earth in the time stretch (as in going through the day) then you are right and as for the version it is 5.1|||Sorry it's not live. The pictures are from Satellite possibly maybe a year old. Sorry|||No it's not. You can only view photos that are generally a year or more old.|||LOL, no, its not live.|||www.mininova.org

Is there any way of seeing actual live satelite feed on the internet?

Like a live Google Earth?|||Sure, if you want to pay NASA $1K per minute to use one of their satellites?

If you get in touch with the Russian space agency, they might cut you a deal on the use of one of their satellites.|||i highly doubt it.... ive always wanted one. I guess the closest you can get to is a webcam.

:-D|||You can enjoy live video from the space station which often includes shots of the earth when the SS folks are busy. Unfortunately I've lost the URL, but just do a Google on space station live video That should do it.

I want to see live view of my house in punjab. I have google earth but it is not good.?

I don't know how much the weather effects the quality of images when the earth is being photographed. Cloudy days would not help..

Are you sure you have thee latest version 4.2 as it is always good to keep up to date with software for better features.

http://freegoogleearth.blogspot.com|||International laws prohibit any LIVE views for regular citizens. Only government entities have access to live pictures. Google earth is around 2 years old for images.|||You can want but you can't get.

Google maps / google earth uses satellite pictures that can be several years old. The only people with access to the live satellites are the owners / the military and they don't give this data away for free.

And anyway, a satellite probably moves over the earth so it is only over your house occasionally - once a day maybe. You'd need a geosynchronous satellite over the Punjab with a camera... and AFAIK that doesn't exist.

Maybe you could get a tall pole and put a webcam on it?|||Live views of propery from satalites is not permitted under international communication laws, that is why most pics you see are over 3 months old, that, however does not stop you hacking into a NASA satalite, just don't get caught.|||Try this site, but sorry dude, they don't allow enlarge the image after certain point due to security purpose.

http://wikimapia.org/

How old are the satellite images of Google Earth?

Does anyone use Google Earth? I just downloaded and am wondering how old the pictures are. I saw my old high school and definitely know the pictures of my school are 3.5 years at their oldest (from the renovation of and addition of huge buildings), but I looked at pictures of my house and I can definitely tell its older than 3.5 years. So how old are the newest pictures and is it possible to see live streaming satellite photos?|||maybe five or more years|||it is SOOOOO ******* old i dont kno how old but ik its like....five years or more lol

How often are the images on google earth updated?

I'm trying to find out whether construction has been started on a place in my home town where I no longer live, and I'm wondering if the satellite images on Google Earth are a continuous stream of new images, or, if not (as I suspect they aren't), how often is the image of each place updated?|||Google says that they're all "less than three years old". I can date a few places in the US based on construction, and they all seem to be right around three years old. I'm sure there are areas that are quite new, but I don't know where they are off hand. They just sent a new satellite up, so new pictures are on their way.|||If you look in the bottom right hand corner of Google Earth it will tell you when the last date the pictures were taken.

GE doesn't really catalogue places that often, only the larger major cities.|||We have been using Google Earth for more than 3 yrs. In that time the standard aerial shot of our city (Melbourne - Australia) have not changed. The current Google Earth shows dirt tracks where freeways have been functional for more than 2 years etc. etc. We also updated to latest paid "Pro" version and it was no different.

Which web site shows live video map of total earth? what @ sub web site of google earth?

There is no live feed of google earth. You can try NASA.com and see the live feed from ISS and look out the window but as for looking any closer you can not unless you are very high security clearence millitary.|||Only weather satellites do that. They are in a high geostationary orbit that allows them to hover over one spot on the ground and show about 1/3 of the world all in one picture. But they are so far away that you cannot see roads or buildings or really even cities. They are used only to see clouds.

Satellites that take closeup pictures are in a low Sun synchronous orbit that can only see a fraction of a percent of the Earth at any one time, and they cannot stop and hover over one spot. They only pass over any given place once every few days. These satellites are low enough to see roads and buildings and cars, and even people if they have a big enough lens, like military spy satellites do. But they cannot give you live pictures or video. They only give one snapshot every few days. Even the CIA cannot get live video from a satellite. It is just not possible.

Where can I get current satellite images like google earth?

Google earth shows imagery date as April 6, 2004. Where can I get current satellite images of my place in NW Arkansas? Is there anything like google earth with newer images? I read people use google earth to look for crashed air planes, but how would that work if the images are so old? Yes, i do live out in the country.|||Nasa_World_Wind is better than google chrome when it comes to image quality

get it free from here

http://www.filewatcher.com/m/World_Wind_鈥?/a>|||Hi,

Google launched the new technology called Google Earth Pro. By using Earth Pro lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean.

http://earth.google.com/|||Google updates when Google wants to update. You'd need access to a government satnet to get "current" images.

If i live in a box would i be able to see my self on google earth?

Be some fancy box to have an internet connection!|||your on the internet, you dont live in a box|||sure. and only the best creepers would zoom in on street view and look directly inside that box of yours.

In google earth what we are watching is live or phote?

Photos with 3d dimension ...|||It shows photos due to security and privacy reasons. And google people cant afford a trillion satellite transponders for all to provide live pictures.|||Although it is live but still u won't be able to see the moving objects,as they are very small, won't be captured by satellite camera due to distance %26amp; darkness.|||in google earth there is photo, it is not live.

and also there are no located some secret region for security purpose.

so there is photo not live.|||It's a composite of 1000's of photos of different ages. Areas with a low population are refreshed at a slower rate than ones with more people.|||It is not live. It is only a compilation of photos|||those are not live images, those statellite pics which is taken at a regular interval.|||It's made up of a lot of different photos. Some are up to 3 or 4 years old while some are only a few months old.|||these are photos not live|||Photo.|||my answer is short GOOGLE EARTH IS LIKE A GAME|||photo|||no doubt it is pre catched photos i feel it

How long will it take for Google Earth to come to my town?

In the middle of April the google earth camera car was spotted around my town by me and several of my friends and im wondering how long it will take for these street views to be uploaded onto google maps??? Any one had any experiance??? BTW I live in Crawley, West Sussex, England if that helps!!!|||call them, otherwise I think they are still trying to get higher res of cities in the UK

Hi.. can anyone tell me,,is there any other software like google earth,,?

hi.. can anyone tell me,,is there any other software for viewing the earth in live like google earth software,?, google earth is not comfortable.. i want to see the earth in live ,|||You aren't going to get any program with a live satellite feed, not even Google Earth does that. Those who use such programs pay thousands of dollars for the privilege.

Try NASA's World Wind - http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/download.h鈥?/a>

EDIT: Just looked at the GSA price list - you can pay up to around $10,000 PER IMAGE for live satellite photos - http://www.spot.com/web/SICORP/2330-gsa-鈥?/a>|||There are some applications available on Google search, you need to install it for better view image.

Here is the link you may go through it: http://en.softonic.com/s/satellite-live|||sorry , only big companies pay tens of thousans to realease satilites and programs so that they can view the earth live

Is there a website that we can see somwhat live views of earth?

Google Earth is not live.|||No, there is no such web site. In 1998 Al Gore proposed launching a satellite that would provide such a service, but it was never done.|||This is probably as close as you can get:

http://www.space.com/spacewatch/earth_ca鈥?/a>

Where can I look at live, real-time satellite pictures of the Earth?

I want something like Google Earth but instead of a single (mostly outdated) picture I want a live real-time image or recording on any place on the planet. Is there a website that allows me to do that?|||Join the military or work for a defense contractor and get a Top Secret clearance. Even then you're not guaranteed to get the privilege of viewing live satellite imagery.|||That's not possible. The closest thing you could get to that is the images they play on nasa tv from the ISS.|||Nope.. If we were able to, there would be a lot more chaos on earth than there already is.. The closest thing in Google Earth and whatever is on NASA's website or the news..

Will google earth or google maps ever go " live " or " real-time " ? does you think that day will ever come?

two things have to happen.

1. they have to get enough satellites up to cover the entire viewing surface of the world to monitor it all at the same time. it takes years to get all of those images that they stitch together.

2. people have to stop freaking out about their privacy, and therefore that will probably be the prevention of it as it will be used for stalking people and their cars and stuff.

How can i find a website where like google earth i can c from satalite but live video as it hapends and free?

ill give 10 poins best answer|||there are a few web cam sites with live video +many citys now have live web cams on the street.

google earth is only a static site though.

national geoghraphics as live web cams

there are several on their site ~water holes in Africa and Australia, coral reefs in Belize +others

city web cams can be found on the yahoo widget site

hope this helps|||At the moment I think there are no websites that have live Satellite pictures, it would be too expensive for one company to have enough Satellites to take pictures of all the earth at one time. also it would take time to put the pictures up and merge them together,

it would be cool if you could but not at the moment|||I think you need to install the cameras yourself which I've got a feeling may be illegal!|||just google it

Where can i find live satellite images of where i live, and not outdated ones like google earth?

It's a no go area I'm afraid. Security departments of government can do this but think about it. If you could do it every burglar in the world could watch for you going out and rob you in the certain knowledge that your house was unoccupied. It really is not a sensible idea if you think about it. Good luck.|||You can get one at your county or city government center, depending on how they have it set up. Look for the GIS (geographic information systems) department. They can get an Aerial photo for you at any time as recent as 10 minutes ago.|||Dude, you're not Jack Bauer.|||Chances are you're not going to be able to find such images. Since if you were able to get a current pic of your house, what would stop you or anyone else from getting pic of your g/f house or your boss's house etc.

You may be able to search around on the net to find a place that would fly a plane over your place and take a picture.|||I think nearly all places to get images like that are slightly outdated. I mean you dont see cameras in the sky all the time filming you,

Try google maps or windows live local they are sometimes more up to date

Thanks

ben

If I downloaded google earth, how do I go to that city but you can see the streets live?

ummm....i think i know what you mean but i dont think you need to downlaod anything. go to this link here. i think this might help you. once you click on the link, press the button that says "satellite" then you can see it LIVE! you can see the houses if you just zoom in by using the bar to the left of the map.. type in the place you wanna see in the search bar above. you can type in your address and it will take you there and you can see it like your up in the sky. remember to click satellite. dont say it doesnt work cuz it does only if you press satellite!! =)

Where can i download the english version of Google-Earth?

I live in Jordan(Arabic language) , so i download Google-Earth with choosing (English) , but when i open it , its a mix of arabic characters and other weird symbols that doesn't make sense !

Where can i find the english version ?

Can google earth or any website show you the address of a random house?

I'm getting married and I would like to send my old neighbors and invitation, or to just let them know. I no longer live in the area and due to getting new phones I lost their number. Is there anyway that I can get their address maybe off of google earth or something? If I know my old address? They lived right across the street? I hope so. Thanks!|||Not sure about Google Earth but at least Google Maps will give you addresses of pointed places.|||zillow.com will show houses. Enter your old address, and you should be able to find the house across the street.|||Yes. Yes it can. Unless you're amish.

Is there a site that gives live satellite images of the Earth?

I currently use Google Earth wich is okay to use, but I am wondering if anyone knows of a better site or source to use. I want as updated pictures as I can get. Live pictures would be best.|||You might contact a major newspaper. after the huric. in New Orleans, I think they had live satil. pics. So maybe they or a weather station could help you. Boy if you find one come back and let us know.|||yes there is. go into google and search google earth. its so cool. you type in any address and it shows a birds eye veiw of it. I hope this helps.|||Sorry mate, I doubt there is any software or site that does that. You see the images taken by a satellite first have to be relayed to a ground station, and processed before it can be used. That processing takes time, and that means making a live feed from the camera of a satellite a hard, and expensive thing to do.|||you'd find it on google|||ive been looking for the same thing for the past two years man, so far no luck. if i find anything i will let you know thow.

so good luck and be sure to let me know if you find one.

Where can i see live streams of the earth. like google earth. i need to see my roof now?

i want to see my roof i panted something on it want to see it ,, if some one can get me a pic ill be happy with that ,,|||Google earth is just so amazing. I can view the location of my chatmates. Too bad, lately its not functioning that well as before. I dont know what happened.

I was willing to help but you did not specify your location so how can we get a pic of your roof.|||Try zillow.com

Is there anything else besides google earth and windows local live (satellites)?

Yahoo! Maps|||http://maps.yahoo.com/beta/. these images are more up to date. in the next several months, yahoo maps will have more zoom levels avaliable.

Google Earth is good but its photos are old is there any website gives new or live photos for any place on ear

i hate that google earth should be live isnt it supposed to be?? well i have it and it isnt. u might have to buy it instead of just downloading. anyway i dont think u can get 100percent live but i tred a few try earthcam.com its ok and not that far back|||lol if you a millionaire u might be able to buy a satellite which keeps track of all places i dunno. there probably is a live one but it is only used by certain authorities.

besides one reason why they will never release a live version of google earth is because ppl can be stalked. imagine someone tracking down where u r using it. it would actually seem kinda cool that u could track someone down but would u rly want several ppl chasing u around the world lol?|||Im sorry but this software is the only and best way of viewing images..Depending on what area you want updated photos you will have to try Google search and see if there are any but i doubt it..

Also Google Earth will never have live feeds for everyone unlesss your in the military..

It would be an invasion of everyones privacy.. It would be too helpfull to terrorists...

I would not want live Google Earth images ever..The software as it is is a brilliant piece of kit but still needs to be improved in quality in certain areas and regular updates would be enough for me..

http://freegoogleearth.blogspot.com

IN GOOGLE EARTH, IS STREET VIEW IS LIVE OR OLD VIEW?

No, its not live, otherwise you would see people %26amp; vehicles moving.|||Old- my house had renovations in 2005 and a new roof which was a different colour, and the picture on google earth is still the old version of the house. |||The streetview of my old neighborhood just became available about a month ago. I can tell by various markers that the street view pictures were taken about one year earlier. Cars parked. For Sale signs.. that kind of thing|||its not live, they take pictures from satelites and stitch them together every so often, probably every year|||Its old view. Or your say computer generated.|||it was last updated in '02

Is there anything like google earth in real time, or live ?

Satellite imagery of that nature is not really available to the public, they are controlled via governments as they can be a HUGE security issue. Of course you could go work for the CIA or NSA and then you could do it.|||yes but not available for public use. think of the security issues that would raise!|||Yes, ..............they're called military spy satellites.

Is there anything like google earth in real time, or live ?

Nope -- most of google earth are shots from airplanes...Not satellites.|||No there isn't. Partly that is because satellites are orbiting very fast and do not stay over one spot on Earth for more than a couple minutes, and they don't pass over that spot more than twice a day, if that often.|||try local live|||yes, but you dont have clearance to access.|||there must be. my dad went to burnham on sea and told me to go on the net and type in burnham web cam and i could see him waving at me bless him|||Well to answer that queston I would have to say not yet. There is nothing like that now but In a few years I could see there being somthing like that.|||I believe Google Earth used to be live but then it was found that the movements of world leaders/methods of mass transportation could be tracked using these facilities and that's why it's not live any more. Security.|||OK.. what you need is at least 3 Hubble Type space telescopes in geostationary orbit..36000km above earths surface to get the coverage and the resolving power required..v. expensive ..and not 'live' but with a 0.24sec min delay!|||Only the government.|||Unfortunately not for the common people :(

How can goat live of google eatth?

how can be throw live google earth|||Goats tend to live in the mountains, you may see some if you select a mountain view. I think they are too heavy to throw, and live ones will tend to struggle..|||learn English man nothing you said makes sense.

How can i find a way for LIVE satellite to view uptodate pics of places round the earth?

I have tried google earth but it doesn't get LIVE Pics to track places its like old 2005-6. Just a name of a program or link that could be useful. I reallyy need an answer.

Thanks|||My guess is that there is no such thing available. The images on google earth were taken over a period of many, many days (by airplanes as well as satellites). In order to take pictures of the resolution you see on google earth, the camera has to zoom pretty far in, which means it will see only a small patch of land each time it passes over, which means it must make many passes in order to build up a catalog of photos of the whole earth, which takes days and weeks and months to complete.

Also, satellites that are close to the earth (where they would have a good view) are moving very fast (because of the laws of gravitation). That means any given spot on the earth will only be within the satellite's view for about 5 minutes at a time; and it's usually hours or days before it passes over that same spot again.

Other satellites have a constant view of the entire country, but they are about 100 times as far away (about 22,000 milies), and it would be astonishing if they could take photos with very good detail from that distance. To take a photo of the whole US with enough detail to see individual houses, would require something like a 100,000 Megapixel camera(!)

Such feats are only possible for Jack Bauer and the CTU team.

Which web site shows live video map of total earth? what sub web site of google earth?

There is no "Live" coverage of the entire earth, not even the CIA or NASA has that.

Google earth is currently the most popular for satellite pics, although I've used Microsoft terraserver as well.|||i dont know i think none

How does Google Earth measure traffic speeds?

In Google Earth, you can select the "Live Traffic" option, which apparently shows individual vehicle speeds (as green, yellow, or red dots) on interstate highways. How do they get that data, and how recent is it?|||they use national trafic statistics and their own statistics (people using google map as GPS send their position, and google keep this Data on that to actualize the stats)

Is there anything like google earth but u can see it live like whats happening at the seconed?

it must be live|||No. for obvious security reasons you can only see what is on the latest version.

http://freegoogleearth.blogspot.com

If you want to see live cams and feeds..Just type in Google, "Live streaming cams" and add what you want to see like traffic in your area or animals and other many tourist attractions,. beaches that have plenty of "live" feeds..

You may just find a cam very near you...|||erm.

i dont think that that's legal. |:

i think if you had some kind of job working for the government as a spy then maybe

but i dont think there's one that can be used by the general public.|||yes there is such thing is called "real time gps" but unfortunatelly is only for the special use of the government agencies like the CIA.|||Hi, unfortunatly becouse of certain legal issues it is not possable to put live satalite images on the internet. If you think about it. It could be very dangerus in the wrong hands. Also the images are not that clear even with Google Earth but they are the best that is possable at this moment in time I dare say that this will improve over time. But it will probably not be possable for live up to the minuet images as people would object to being viewed, Going to work, leaving there homes for a potential robbery etc, so you see it would be possable but unlikely to happen.

Hope this has answered your question without upseting anyone.

All the best

Dr K.I.A.

Are there any sites that have live satellite feeds of the earth?

Google Earth doens't, just old snapshots. Im talking live views of street level activity, is this even possible? Would be so fascinating.|||Closeup pictures live all the time is impossible. Weather satellites are almost live, but they don't show small detail.

To get detail good enough to show cars requires a big lens or telescope pointing at the ground from a LOW orbit. Like 200 or 300 miles up. The low orbit means 2 things. 1, you can't hover over one spot; you are always moving rapidly over the ground. You only pass over a given spot once every few days. 2, from that close you can only see a small area at a time, maybe a hundred miles wide or whatever.

Weather satellites are in geostationary orbit, 22,000 miles up. They can hover in one place forever and see continents and large scale cloud patterns, but not small things like buildings or cars.|||NASA.com is the closest you'll get.

I have Google Earth, but is there any program that gives you live streaming video from satellites?

That would be awesome.|||no, only the CIA and FBI have that power! i was wondering the same, but it would be awesome! Google Earth rocks too! Merry Christmas and be safe, ya hear?|||i think you would have to work for the FBI or CIA to get that....by the way...check out the pyramid in Giza Egypt and the Great Wall of China both are awesome on Google Earth|||This might not be what your looking for but it's a download that you can view the planets, galaxies, constellations from where you are on Earth.

Google Earth v Windows Local Live - Where are you ?

Have you used any of these 2 virtual earths ? what do you think of them ?|||Windows Local Live is a lot better than google earth!!!|||I don't like either of em'|||Google Earth could be a little better.|||I think you won't find anything better than Google Earth at the moment. Not even NASA's World Wind can compare to Google Earth.|||I've used Google Earth, but the proper pics for my town haven't been added yet. I've never tried the Windows one though|||I suggest Google Earth, connection is faster.

A question about Google earth and gps phones?

I am a google earth user and found this man, Tim who goes everywhere and you can watch him on google earth in live.

Me and my friend found this interesting and want to try it out, using his mobile phone and my computer. What software do we need? He is totally in this, so I'm not doing anything illegally, etc. My friend has a Nokia 6630 phone that has a GPS option.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a link:

http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/…

Please help.|||go to googleearth .com and follow download instructions

Is there any thing like google earth but its a live view?

Yes, but you have to work for the CIA to get access to it!

(In other words, sorry no)|||Yes but i doubt that you can get it?!!!!|||Not in this life. Because of Homeland Security, live transmissions are illegal. Google Earth and Nasa Earth show images that are at least 2 years old.|||i don't think so but, you can see street views on google maps.|||No. Unless you have a multi-million dollar spy sat orbiting, you can't get a live sat view.|||Yes, but only the government has access to it.|||Im sure the military have one

But not for our use

Not yet anyway -- give it a few years|||Not even government satellites can see everything at once, it costs about a million dollars to retask a satellite slightly off it's regular track, so nobody is going to set up a live link for any one location.|||yes. goverment satelites.

and that unmanned camera plane the army uses.

only 1 for public is the goodyear blimp

Is there a way to view live footage of the earth from like 2 days ago?

I know theres google earth and you can view live stuff but i was wondering if theres a way to view footage from a few days ago? If you know a site maybe where i could do this? Thanks for your time! :)|||Yes, R4che1, his car was parked at her house the day before yesterday. I saw it.|||Not two days ago, the closest thing I can think of short of old weather maps would be 'dish earth' a channel on dish Satellite that snaps a photo about every 15 seconds of earth from their Satellite 22,000 miles from earth, among the things you can see are the moon passing behind earth, the sun passing behind earth, and numerous satellites closer to earth, lit up by the sun before earths shadow blocks it out, you can find many dish earth videos on youtube.com|||No. Images from space of a specific time and place are extremely expensive, really only possible for government agencies like the CIA.

What is the best program to get live satelite images of the earth?

Google earth, Virtual earth, are there any just amazing live feeds price not an equation.|||You cannot get LIVE satellite views of the earth. The images you see on google earth or zillow.com were taken months ago. The bandwidth for satelites is expensive so they are limited to government use such as NSA.

The satellite views you will see online are all from the same source so it doesn't make a difference really. Google Earth is some thing that a satallite sees in .|||To operate one live, you would actually have to initiate internet-based control over an orbiting satellite with imagery capabilities. You realize that it would have to reconfigure its current orbit and literally reposition in space to get to the place you want to spy on. That would cost in the hundreds of thousands to operate.

I suggest setting up internet real time cameras that are set up to a video server to relay images to your computer screen. Google Earth does not have a live satellite feed. They use still images between 1 and 3 years old. Not all of the images are from satellites either. Some of the images are from aircraft.|||Not live.

It's satelite photography. soem of it maybe 1 year old.

It's an awesome site none the less.|||actually some of them are 5 years old|||well......... you need to zoom in on the area you want and ya....................... google earth is live satellite vidio....... but it has a lot of limitations|||zoom up more.....|||its a high resolution satellite picture taken from years concentrate on big cities and capitals specially for navigation|||Google Earth. Yes I like it, but the images were taken some years ago. Not sure how long, but when I looked at my hometown, I saw a building which is not there anymore. It was demolished about 5 or 6 years ago.

Another point is this: The speed of the satellite is such that it would be impossible to view anything moving - it simply took pictures. Big Brother is watching you, dude!|||My guess would be that the image that you see is actually a composite of multiple still photographs.

As the satellite rotates, at fixed intervals you take a snap. So two successive snaps would differ by some distance covered and you overlap them to get the whole picture.

Also I am not sure if Google has access to images of such a resolution that allows cars to be displayed (that would be like 1m res)

Either of these could cause your cars to not appear really

Do you think that in 20 years time (or before then) google earth will be a constant live video stream?

How to see live karachi in google earth?

You can't see anything "live" in Google Earth. Google Earth shows aerial and satellite photos that were taken in the past 鈥?it's not a live view of anything.

Is google earth plus is live?

No, its arial photos from as far back as 8 years.|||no.|||No. None of the Google Earth programs are live. The U.S. Government would not allow live due to National Security.

Plus, it would cost quite a bit to continuously update the maps.

What the Plus does is give you feature that the basic Free version doesn't provide, and you can get closer to the ground with better clarity.|||No! If you have lived in your house a few years and have just recently put something in your backward, say a trampoline or a pool, you most likely will NOT see it on Google Earth.|||Maybe. Try this. Go outside your house and start a small fire in the yard. Then, go inside to your computer and zoom in on your house on Google. If you see the fire, it's live. If you don't, then you're stupid!!!|||No. The pictures vary in age. Is there a "Live" google earth service that shows live sat. pic.?

No ,it Is Not possible Now , maybe in The future .

The photographs taken by satellites and aircraft sometime in the last three years.|||Definitely not! This would be very dangerous if anyone could access a satelite and see whatever they wanted to in real time. The option you want is mainly for the government and military. What google earth really is, is a program that allows you to view pictures in an organized, and graphical manner.

Sorry :(|||yes there is.......

Is there anything like GOOGLE earth, but is live?

No. But you can see live images at www.nasa.gov or at the JPL site. Google Earth?

Google Earth is an extremely good tool. However I live in Essex (UK) and my area is undefined and low res, just a patchwork of green blobs which I assume are fields. High res may or may not be available. As someone suggested, you MAY be able to pay to get high res.|||try google maps

maps.google.co.uk

you may find it better|||I had the same problem. But I have never found anything saying when you pay you will get the whole very clear! When you pay you will get advantages as hq printing etc.|||Not yet, unless someone has posted a high-res overlay at a site like the source listed.

However, Google is always adding more high-res images so it probably will become high-res in the near future.

Also note that while you might be able to pay for high-res images from a third party, paying for an enhanced version of Google Earth will NOT make the images any better.

Will google earth ever be live?

No, because you need to consider the logistics involved.

1. the size of the earth.

2. The number of cameras required to tape everything on earth at every second.

3. The amount of information which would require to be processed.

4. The cost of running such a network would be billions of dollars per second. Not per year.

So no. It will never be live. Right now it has a image refresh rate of 4 - 7 YEARS. let alone days.

You shouldn't be saddend by the thought. You can technically make your own sub-orbital satelight with a camera and have live feed your self if your willing to upfront the costs.

For more information in making your own mini suborbital satelight.

http://www.hobbyspace.com/SatBuilding/|||Highly Unlikely in your/mine lifetime, especially for free.

Although, you can certainly trick the older non computer friendly generation into thinking it is currently live.|||No. They would have to put cameras all over the world. It would violate people's privacy.

I have seen Google Earth and its awesome. But is there anyway to see in various spots in earth LIVE???

U will have to get many dedicated military/spy satellites for that ....|||Have you ever heard of George Orwell's book 1984?

Luckily, the answer to your question is no.|||unless you are in the viewing area of a traffic helicopter, not that I know of.|||Yes, just jump on a bus, plane or boat :-)|||no, satellites cannot be anywhere at once, for that to happen you would have to obtain priority access to that satellite and have it move to the location that you desire. Only the government has that authority, the pictures you see on Google Earth are just images collected over the years from those sats.

hope this helps|||Not that I've heard of.

Can u actually see streets and houses where u live with "Google Earth"?

I just installed Google Earth on my comp. and would appreciate help with explaining it to me. What all features would be interesting to do with it. H..E..L..P|||Yes and in some places you can even see people.

As far as using it, it is pretty self-explainitory. When you open it up you see the earth and you click on where you want to go. Drag you mouse to move the earth. Kind of gives you a sense of power.|||Yes I use it all the time.|||My son uses it all the time. I can see my house. You can use the scroll on your mouse and move in and out to view your neighbourhood or anyone else's.|||Depending on the quality of the image, yes.

Although I think some of the data is a few years out of date.|||try maps.live.com it is sooo much better than google|||Yes. I've done it.

Too see the streets, check "roads" in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Is there a website where you can 'live stream' the earth?

Almost like google earth, but its live so you can see when people leave the house or walk past or move there cars, etc.

Not meaning to sound stalkerish or anything, just wondering.|||Only government intelligence services have access to such expensive data. You might find cloud weather patterns somewhere, nothing closeup like Google maps.

What do you think, the "google earth" in the coming 10-15 years may become live like a motion pictures?

Never going to happen. The photographs taken for Google Earth are a composite of images taken over time. One satellite can take several images and then they're pasted together in a collage to map the entire Earth. In order to have a live stream of the entire planet all the time, 24/7, we'd need a lot more satellites. The cost would be enormous, and if someone did implement the system then they're not likely to just release it to the public free of charge.

One company, AstroVision, tried this but could not get enough funding. Even still, they would only have video of a small section of the world and the picture would not focus to the street level like Google Earth; it would mainly show weather patterns.|||that'll be scary, there goes privacy|||TRUE............ and definitely, it will be|||i dont think so...at least i hope not! then everyone can see what you are doing and where..thats a tad creepy!! i would hope that that wouldnt happen but who knows? but i really think it is more of a privacy thing, which is why they shouldnt do it. |||It's impossible. We would have to have satellites constantly taking pictures of every inch of the Earth, then processing it fast enough to have a decent frame rate on the image. Even if that could be done, think of how much bandwidth/internet speed would be required to stream all of that.

It will never happen.

In which website i can see live earth,,,,,but please say other than google earth&google maps?

Good Luck

Do you think that in 20 years time (or before then) google earth will be a constant live video stream?

Instead of just a picture|||wow the first guy that answered has a great point if anything like that happens i would give it 40 years from now|||That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest considering that 20 years ago we were barely past the Commodore 64/128 era and had only gotten our feet wet with the Apple MacIntosh a few (4-5) years earlier. What are other softwares that uses live sattelite feed like Google Earth?

yes google earth is only streamed by imagining as answered already it is not a live satelite feed but they are photos taken by differant satellites that are combined. the only satelite form of streaming is tv and they can be found on search engines

though alot of sat is foriegn material or free to air viewing and do not contain much of value in the way of entertainment.

if your interested in programs like google earth Nasa has one for download on their website that is similar and i have been told it is alot better in quality.

It is said that we can see world in live action through google earth but how?

Yes, you can do it, but not in the free version. You will have to purchase the full version of Google Earth and then only you would be able to do so. In the free version, you can only see 3D objects and that's all.|||I highly doubt that and i bet that Google had to pay lots of money and get tons of special rights and laws just to take pictures of the earth thats not live for, as Corbyn Berndsen said, privacy reasons and where did you get this information also because i highly doubt it's true.|||you cant i dont think unless you purchase it but even then i dont think so because i doubt the people who own the satilites would lend them to watch people move around on the ground also it might be because of privacy reasons|||It is for the original purchased version, I also heared that but I wasn't saw any such things like that.

Google earth info OR live video cam of an area that I can see personal property live right now at no charge.?

I am in need of a way to spy on my property that may be in danger in Louisiana. I don't subscribe to google earth some people tell me it's a way to see however there is a $400.00 price tag on the good program. I would like maybe if some knows a way to do this either at no charge or from another program maybe. I am located in the Stow - Akron OHIO area. So if anyone knows anyone that may have this service please email me as maybe they can help me spy on my property to see if it's ok. Thanks, Mary|||I don't have any service but I have something for you to try. If you didn't do this yet then you should. Have you tried downloading a Google Earth trial yet? It works and you can see the world from your computer. The reason theres a trial is because you have to buy it for a certain amounts cost. Anyway google earth is a program that lets you see pictures taken at verious times in the year so nothing there is recorded and the program isn't really like the HD sort of thing. When you try to veiw something up close it turns out to be blurry. I hope this helped.

Is there a program where I can see Earth live?

is there a program other than Google Earth to see cities and close up streets online? Or even better is it possible live?|||To the best of my knowledge there are no programs that show live pictures of the earth, this is because most of the pictures on google earth are from planes and UAVs and there isn't a system set up to receive live photos from all over the world.

Live Satellite Feed? (not Google Earth)?

I want to know if there are any free or cheap LIVE satellite feeds. NOT google earth. I mean with people walking around and driving. That would be cool. Help please|||Nope. There are only so many satellites up there, and those satellites can only take a certain number of pictures each day. That's why Google Earth isn't live. The number of satellites to support such a thing would be outrageous.|||Not free and not available to the public. But there are military satellites that can spot cars and are real-time.

Can I pay for a service to watch a certain address? Like Google Earth? Will it give me a live feed?

I have a friend who seems to be stalking her and always know who is at her house and when and we are trying to figure out how.....Google Earth gives images that are about 4 years old for our area. I am told if you pay extra you get better images.

Is satellite view of eartf from Google Earth is live pictures or not?

No. Weeks to years old depending on the area of the world and when satellite coverage was available.|||NOt live|||no|||Of course not. Live satellite software like google earth?

Hi is there any software like google earth that show's live satellite images.........|||No.

And do not be decieved, most of the images on Google Earth are not from satellites - only the large scale, blurry ones. The close ups are taken from aeroplane surveys. The clues are (i) only major population centres are covered (ii) look at the shadows/angles of view and (iii) the resolution is too good for what would be released from satellites.|||Not that you and I can access.

Can you see people LIVE on Google Earth?

No, Google Earth is made up of images/photos taken from helicopters, airplanes and satellites that are updated every so often. Only the government has access to real Live images of those. (Because of security issues, giving live satellite access to the public would be a VERY bad idea)|||No, its not live. Only the weather, traffic, etc is.|||no|||no it is not live. it is taken like one time in the year. like the 2007 version was taken from 2007.

How can i make my google earth to become live because these are still images or do u have to pay to be live?

Google earth isn't live and you can't make it live. It would take a dedicated satellite streaming images to your computer for that to happen and they can't do that.

Does Google earth have a live feed or real time feature available?

Actually its possible but only would be available for limited areas. This isnt something out of tom clancy. Someone well educated in the technology knows that private companies (including private owners) can pay to have their own satellite sent up. Of course there are laqs and such limitedhow advaced your tech can be and the government has tech itself to protect you looking over certain areas but its more then possible if you have the money. FYI google does have the money but It would not be practical!|||No, it would cost way too much money for any of these sites to have a live camera on every piece of the country at the same time, just think about it.|||No not yet that would be too cool|||You are joking right??

Do you think that Google has access to NSA/CIA satellite technology?

Is there any website or software like google earth which can show the live images?

Is there any other place to view live images besides google earth?

Even google earth is not live. It is a combination of satellite and aerial photos, none of which is live and some of which may be many years old. Do you think we'll ever have live Google Earth?

I'm not asking if it's possible, I don't want to get into a debate about satellites and orbits and solar panels...

I'm asking from a moral standpoint. You wouldn't be able to read someone's book from space but you could follow them anywhere. The police could even use it to catch dangerous criminals on the run or as video evidence for almost any court case.

Do you think this would ever be implemented or do you think that people would argue that it invades their privacy?|||.no|||NASA, the CIA, FBI, KGB and other abbr.-organizations already use that sort of high-technology.|||It is an invasion of privacy. Also the government already has a sattelite that does that, so they could use that to catch criminals.|||The capacity already exists and is used by the militaries and intelligence agencies. Depending on where you live, will depend on if you can actualy see your house.

I can see objects down to cars easily if I look at the apartment complex I lived in , in Florida.

On my parents house, I can see the house and the driveway, but cannot make out thier cars.

Does anyone know of any LIVE satellite programs like Google Earth - but live?

Due to International Laws (not to mention military interests) you cannot get live satellite photography. Google Earth's maps are based off of a periodic photometric scan.

Not only does law regulate live satellite photography, you also cannot receive satellite images beyond a certain scale (I remember 1:5 000, but I might be wrong) or receive satellite images from Military Installations (Examples include Quantico, Cheyenne Mountain, etc.) or Department of State protected areas (state embassies, Federal Reserve Banks, etc.)|||no but it would be cool does it exist? wouldnt it be a breach in security|||would be too dark to see anything right now duh

I do know of at least one view that had to have been photographed in November, 2006. I can't speak for others.|||No its not live. The images you see are anywhere from 3 years old to over 8 years old. How to upload my home to google earth?

i have designed my home by google sketchup 3d now tell me step by step how can i upload it to google earth.

BTW i live in india.|||Please keep in mind I do not have Google Sketchup but I have done some research on it.

Open the model you'd like to upload

Select File %26gt; 3D Warehouse %26gt; Share Model

Then you will be asked to sign in to google if you are not already signed in

Fill in the 'title' field

Fill in the 'description' field

Fill in the 'tags' field

Fill in the 'address' field (optional)

Select the Google Earth Ready check box (optional) use this if

your model is Geo located.

Click on the Upload button to upload

Your model will be uploaded to Google Warehouse and will be

reviewed by someone at Google to make sure it is correct and

Google ready. Then it may take 5 hours or up a week for this review

process to take place.

I think then you have Google earth open to your location and in Sketchup open model and select %26gt; Place Model from menu and drag model to Google earth where you want it to be and position it correctly and it's there. But that may just do it in your google earth

I was also reading that when you fill out the form when you uploaded model to warehouse that Google places it for you.|||I don't think you can do that, all google earth pictures are just satellite images from space.

Is there any type of google earth that is live?

is there a live googe earth??? plzzz|||No.

Satellite images are months and sometimes even years old. There would need to be tens of thousands more satellites before there could be the bandwidth to handle providing real time imaging.

Does anyone know of any LIVE satellite programs like Google Earth - but live?

even this programs by subscribe pls I need answer|||This just isn't practical and won't be possible anytime soon. To do this requires a network of satellites dedicated to covering the earth. Just to provide as much detail as the base layers World Wind loads first, the camera resolution on each one has to total about 100 megapixels. Perhaps the military has such a network, but it is certainly off-limits to anyone else. The images have to be received on the ground and processed. Then they all have to be combined where they overlap and corrected for the distortion caused by the earth's curvature. Finally after compressing the imagery from gigabytes down to several hundred megabytes, a server has to send it out to everyone. This requires an enormous amount of bandwidth for the server. Even if that weren't a problem, the internet connection for the majority of high-speed users is still too slow for more than about one update every hour.

Google earth is regularly updated with newer high resolution pictures but it is not live. Theres only a set amount of satellites that Google can send into space to take pictures. In order for a live feed to be able to zoom in as far Google Earth can each satellite must have a telescope for each person using Google Earth.
